ATP New York footage released!

Posted in Video on September 4th, 2009 by admin – 1 Comment

One of the great surprises of looking through all the fan-footage sent to us over the course of making All Tomorrow’s Parties was discovering the material of Vincent Moon. Back in early 2007 he sent us a short film he’s made at the Thurston Moore Nightmare Before Christmas event, and the footage was so amazing, we asked him back to shoot material at every ATP since. His material has been a key part of the film and in the meantime Vincent has become a hugely successful filmmaker in his own right, most famous for the Take Away shows. He’s a consummate fan, with an uncanny ability to capture the festival from the fan’s point of view, and we’ve asked him back to make a short film around each festival moving forward.

He is currently finishing the edit of From Ghosts, a film shot at last years My Bloody Valentine curated New York ATP.   These clips are an amazing reminder of an incredible festival, that one Pitchfork reporter called “the most enjoyable festival experience I’ve ever had”.

Exclusive clips from this forthcoming new short, are showing for one week only on Pitchfork TV. This 35 minute short will be released alongside our feature doc ALL TOMORROW’S PARTIES this Autumn.

As ever sign up to our mailing list to be kept up to date on screenings, further clips and release news.

SXSW Premiere - Reviews & Pictures

After many years of work the All Tomorrow’s Parties film has finally premiered at the SXSW Film Festival 2009 in Austin, Texas. Here are a few quick quotes, you can see more by choosing REVIEWS on our site menu…

“Stunning…A truly immersive experience, All Tomorrow’s Parties runs the gamut from raucous energy to magisterial grace…This remarkable film encapsulates and sculpts the ecstatic abandon of shared musical experience into a thing of opulent brilliance. All Tomorrow’s Parties is a film to fall in love with.” - SXSW Festival

“A cascade of sound and fury…the range of what this movie covers exhausts me…The highest compliment I can pay the film is that it made me want to attend the festival for real…not just your average concert film, [it's] in a class by itself…One of the singular film experiences i’ve had so far this year.” - Hit Fix

Here’s a few pictures to give you a better idea of how it went down:
